Tour introduction and overview of activities

Cuban Trogon - Authentic Cuba

Cuban Trogon [Tocororo locally], Priotelus temnurus, is Cuba’s national bird – its red, blue and white colors match the island’s flag. Click photo to learn more.

An island expedition focused on encounters with locals, the outdoors, and culture. A sojourn geared to the desires of nature lovers and people addicted to the arts, history, and architecture. The diversity of activities is matched by the breadth of meals featuring tasty Cuban cuisine from the countryside to the capital.

In Havana, you’ll stay in the boutique Hotel Victoria, and later the fabulous Hotel Capri. In Trinidad, you’ll enjoy comfortable rustic charms of the hillside Hotel Las Cuevas. The historic cities of Trinidad and Cienfuegos are the island’s top destinations after Havana. The excursion to the summit of the Escambray Mountain range in Soviet Army trucks is but one of many adventure highlights of this trip.

Your Cuba odyssey includes visits to several UNESCO world heritage sites, ancient coffee plantations, enchanting Las Terrazas eco-village, museums, and Ernest Hemingway’s home. You’re surrounded by music and art day and night. You’ll have ample occasions to explore the mysteries of island life with everyday Cubans. It’s an exceptional Cuban holiday. Similar programs run thousands more.

Cuba’s big! Its land mass is 42,426 square miles – about 80 percent the size of Alabama. Cuba is nearly as large as Louisiana, and larger than Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Ohio or Indiana. Altogether it’s bigger than Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont combined.
